Amaravati, December 24, 2025: Prakasam police in Andhra Pradesh have stepped up efforts against mobile theft, recovering 342 stolen phones worth ₹50 lakh in just three months. Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju oversaw the inspection and handover at the District Police Office in Ongole, highlighting a dedicated special team’s work in tracing devices.
Since late 2021, the district force has traced and returned over 6,447 phones valued at nearly ₹9.50 crore, showing consistent progress through targeted operations and technology-aided tracking. Authorities urged residents to report thefts promptly and verify second-hand phone purchases to curb resale of stolen goods.
