Amaravati, December 28: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu spoke by phone with the family of farmer Dondapati Rama Rao from Mandadam village in the Amaravati capital area.

The 70-year-old farmer died of cardiac arrest on December 26 while attending a meeting about the proposed N-8 road project, which may affect homes in the region. Ministers and local leaders, including Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana and Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar, organised the session to address farmer concerns over potential land needs for wider, international-standard roads.

Naidu expressed deep condolences, promised the state would stand by the family, and directed officials to provide all necessary assistance. Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications also visited the residence to pay respects.
