Amaravati, December 29, 2025: Prakasam district police, in a joint operation with the Eagle unit, Task Force, Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police, and a sniffer dog squad, seized 11.5 kg of ganja and 37 ganja-infused chocolates from passengers on the Bokaro Express.

The bust occurred during special night inspections between Ongole and Singarayakonda railway stations on December 27.

The four arrested include a 25-year-old from Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, and three men aged 24 to 30 from Odisha's Balangir and Malkangiri districts.

Authorities handed them over to GRP for further probe into the smuggling network. Such seizures highlight ongoing efforts to disrupt ganja flow from Odisha border areas through Andhra Pradesh rail routes.
