Amaravati, December 29, 2025: The iconic Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam, a major Jyotirlinga and Shakti Peetha in Andhra Pradesh's Nallamala hills, will offer free sparsha darshan, direct touch and close-view darshan to members of the indigenous Chenchu tribe beginning on Vaikunta Ekadasi, Tuesday, December 30.
Temple trust board chairman P. Ramesh Naidu and executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao announced that Chenchus, identified through the local Integrated Tribal Development Agency, can enter via the queue at the Old Donation Counter from 11 a.m.
This builds on an earlier decision to provide such access one day each month, recognising the tribe's historic bond with the deities viewing Goddess Bhramaramba as their daughter and Lord Mallikarjuna as son-in-law. Chenchus already join key rituals like Brahmotsavam during Sankranti, Varalakshmi Vratam in Sravana, and Koti Deepotsavam in Karthika.
