Amaravati, December 30, 2025: Kurnool district registered 4,051 crime cases in 2025, up from 4,022 in 2024, a 0.7% rise according to district police data released at the annual crime review.
Serious violent crimes fell markedly: murders declined 15% (from 34 to 29) and attempt-to-murder cases dropped 29% (from 41 to 29). Crimes against women also decreased, with rape cases halving (from 10 to 5) and POCSO cases falling from 61 to 37. Offences against Scheduled Castes and Tribes reduced by 13.71%.
Property crimes such as dacoity, robbery, and theft rose, while road accidents jumped from 547 to 658. Drunk-driving and open drinking cases surged sharply due to intensified enforcement drives.
Cybercrime cases dropped 40% (from 107 to 64), with police recovering significant stolen assets 68.24% of property worth over ₹6 crore, and freezing millions in fraud-linked accounts.
