Prakasam district saw a 6.61% decline in overall cognizable crimes in 2025, with police crediting tech tools and better patrols. Recovery rates for stolen property and missing persons stayed strong.

Amaravati, December 30, 2025: Prakasam district registered 7,818 cognizable cases in 2025, down from 8,371 in 2024, a clear 6.61% reduction. Property offences fell to 632 cases, cybercrimes dropped to 44, and crimes against women stood at 709.

Police recovered ₹4.44 crore of ₹8.70 crore in stolen goods (51% rate) and traced most missing persons, including 94.85% of girls and 90.41% of women.

Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju linked the progress to drones, expanded CCTV, and stronger night patrols in key spots. Officials also tracked 3,891 migrant workers to curb related risks.
