Newsroom, December 30, 2025: A 33-year-old tenant from Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district has been arrested for strangling his 65-year-old landlady in Hyderabad’s Mallapur area on December 19 and later disposing of her body in the Godavari river with help from two accomplices.
The victim, who lived alone, owned gold ornaments that motivated the murder-for-gain crime. Police in Nacharam cracked the case quickly after a missing complaint on December 24 led to the tenant’s detention and confession; the body was recovered from the Vainateya Godavari stretch near Mamidikuduru on December 30 morning, with stolen gold bangles, chain, and ear-studs retrieved.
