Amaravati, January 02, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh government has transferred 9.96 acres of land in Nuzvid town, Eluru district, to the Director of Horticulture and Sericulture for setting up a campus of the Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), an Bengaluru-based institution focused on specialized education in plantation crops and management.

The decision, issued through a government order on December 31, 2025, grants the land on a rent-free lease for 33 years after the institute requested a waiver in the public interest.

Initial proposals suggested a paid lease, but officials approved the free allotment with strict conditions: exclusive use for educational purposes, no sub-leasing or transfers without permission, protection of existing roads and water bodies, and project start within three years or risk of cancellation.
