Amaravati, January 02, 2026: Official excise data show Andhra Pradesh recorded liquor sales of approximately ₹2,767 crore in December 2025, marking an 8% rise over ₹2,568 crore in December 2024.
The sharpest jump came in the final three days (December 29-31), when sales reached ₹543 crore nearly 60% higher than the ₹336 crore in the same period last year.
Urban districts led the surge, with Visakhapatnam topping at around ₹178.6 crore, followed by Tirupati (₹169.4 crore) and NTR (₹155.4 crore). Officials link the increase to extended sale hours, private parties, social gatherings, and strong year-end demand in cities like Vizag and Vijayawada.
December typically sees higher consumption due to festivals and weddings, but 2025 showed a clearer festive boost.
