Newsroom, January 02, 2026: A Jana Sena Party delegation, including E. Sambasiva Pratap Kumar and R.M.V. Sumanth, called on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and fellow commissioners in New Delhi to push for an immediate start to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh.

The party stressed that SIR would clean up errors, include first-time voters, and reach remote or underserved communities more effectively. They highlighted challenges faced by migrant workers and urban employees who often miss voting in their home state.

The delegation proposed reforms such as a national voter database to prevent duplicates, mobile enrolment drives in IT and industrial areas, better polling station infrastructure, more urban booths, and options like staggered or appointment-based voting to lift turnout.

They also suggested drawing from global models in countries like Estonia, Switzerland, and Australia for efficient, transparent processes.
