Amaravati, January 03, 2026: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar led the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for Phase-3 of Guntur's Inner Ring Road (IRR) in the city.
The project targets the remaining 4.5 km segment from Swarnabharathi Nagar to Palakaluru, aiming to complete the full corridor first envisioned in 2005. Officials including Guntur Mayor Kovelamudi Ravindra, local MLAs, and district authorities attended the event.
This phase will divert heavy traffic from Palnadu and western Guntur districts toward National Highway-65 and Vijayawada, easing pressure on city roads and supporting faster regional movement.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) oversees the work, which follows years of delays due to land and administrative hurdles.
