Amaravati, January 05, 2026: The Amaravati Press Club turned the Nalanda School grounds in Vijayawada into a lively village-like setting for pre-Sankranti festivities on January 4.

Journalists, families, and children took part in a day filled with tradition, lighting the Bhogi bonfire to honour unity across generations, enjoying Haridasu devotional songs, Gangireddulu folk shows, rangoli designs featuring gobbemmas, kite-flying contests, and symbolic rooster fights

. Youth experienced bullock-cart rides, while women competed in rangoli and students performed classical dances in traditional outfits.
