Amaravati, January 05, 2026: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office in Guntur took firm action against Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) in Andhra Pradesh, attaching its bank accounts over unpaid provident fund dues totalling ₹6.35 crore.

The amount stems from non-enrolment and non-contribution for 437 contract, security, outsourced, and daily wage employees spanning 1992 to 2017. An official inquiry in 2018 assessed the liability, but the university did not settle despite multiple chances over seven years.

Recovery proceedings under relevant EPF laws led to ₹5 crore already transferred, with the balance slated for quick collection. The recovered funds will credit individual employee accounts, securing benefits under EPF, pension, and insurance schemes.
