Amaravati, January 05, 2026: Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar highlighted Andhra Pradesh's strong progress in energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.
He noted the state's top ranking in adopting the Energy Conservation Building Code and praised multiple MoUs signed under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu with central agencies like Energy Efficiency Services Limited.
Key efforts include urban LED street lighting, support for MSMEs, eco-friendly tourism, geothermal technologies that can save up to 70% power, distribution of energy-efficient induction stoves to Anganwadis, the Urjaveer campaign, and promotion of star-rated appliances for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries.
Khattar stressed that such technology-driven steps show Andhra Pradesh's commitment to sustainability and called for greater public participation in climate action nationwide to meet goals like Viksit Bharat by 2047.
