Amaravati, January 06, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Food Commission Chairman Chinta Vijay Prathap Reddy stressed zero tolerance for any compromise on mid-day meal quality during surprise checks in Visakhapatnam district.

Accompanied by Commission Member Jakkampudi Krishna Kiran, he visited fair price shops, anganwadi centres, and schools including Ambedkar Gurukulam and Zilla Parishad High School in Adavivaram.

Teams reviewed ration distribution, food records, attendance, and meal arrangements while gathering direct student feedback on menu compliance. Reddy confirmed fortified rice is supplied statewide, explaining its nutritional benefits to children.
