Amaravati, January 06, 2026: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has rolled out extra coaches on several trains to handle the surge in passengers heading home for Sankranti, the major harvest festival peaking around January 15 in Andhra Pradesh.
Key additions include one Vistadome Chair Car coach each on the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul (58501) and return Kirandul-Visakhapatnam (58502) passenger trains on multiple dates from January 7 to 30, targeting tourist and family travel in tribal and coastal areas.
Other augmentations cover sleeper and AC coaches on select intercity and express services, while trains like the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Garibrath (12739/12740) and Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express (17016) will make brief temporary stops at Charlapalli station from January 7 to 20 for better crowd control at Secunderabad.
