Amaravati, January 06, 2026: The push came during a Vice-Chancellors' conference in Vijayawada, presided over by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer.

Lokesh stressed periodic curriculum updates, multidisciplinary approaches, stronger industry ties through internships and placements, enhanced research, and financial self-reliance via alumni networks.

He drew inspiration from global examples like Stanford's ongoing program redesigns and highlighted youth concerns he heard during his padayatra, noting many graduates feel unprepared for future careers.

The Governor pointed to Andhra Pradesh's strong higher education access, with a Gross Enrolment Ratio of 36.,5 above the national 28 and progress under NEP 2020 toward a transformed sector by 2040.
