Amaravati, January 07, 2026: At the 57th Capital Region Development Authority meeting in Vijayawada on January 6, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials to study Qatar's model for creating a premier sports city in Amaravati.
Qatar's Aspire Zone, known for hosting major international events, serves as the benchmark for building facilities that meet global standards.
The directive ties into broader efforts to make Amaravati self-sustaining. Naidu stressed strengthening the Amaravati Development Corporation and CRDA through revenue-generating assets and sustainable models.
He also approved developing the Krishna riverfront into a Marina Waterfront via public-private partnerships, featuring jetties, leisure boats, food plazas, and water sports to boost tourism and create a blue-green urban landscape.
