Amaravati, January 10, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu has underlined the dairy sector's crucial position as the backbone of rural economy.

Addressing the Southern Dairy and Food Conclave-2026 in Kozhikode, Kerala, he noted that dairying provides reliable daily income for farmers, empowers women through self-help groups, and creates large-scale employment in villages.

The minister pointed out that livestock rearing offers economic security to small and marginal farmers while expanding livelihood options across rural areas.

He described animal husbandry and dairy as integral to India's economic, social, and cultural fabric since ancient times, contributing to national growth, rural livelihoods, women's empowerment, and nutritional security.
