Amaravati, January 10, 2026: Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav urged superintendents of government teaching hospitals and medical college principals to prioritize patient satisfaction and remove any sources of negative feedback on services at Government General Hospitals (GGHs) across Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at a state-level review meeting in Vijayawada on January 9, the minister noted that 60-70% of patients expressed positive views on GGH services based on December 2025 feedback.

He stressed the need to address the remaining concerns through compassionate care, strict attendance rules, and real-time monitoring. Absenteeism without permission will not be tolerated, with strong disciplinary action possible, including removal from service.

The meeting highlighted strong performance gains under the current government, including an 8% rise in doctor and staff attendance over 19 months, 44% growth in outpatient visits, 40% increase in surgeries, and 150% rise in diagnostic tests in December.

Hospitals in Visakhapatnam, Anantapur, and Vijayawada exceeded targets, while others like Nellore, Machilipatnam, and Eluru lagged.
