Vijayawada, January 11, 2026: Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav urged the state's youth to actively take part in blood donation camps organised for January 12, National Youth Day, which marks Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary.

He noted steady growth in voluntary donations 5.34 lakh units collected in 2024-25 (88.6% voluntary) and 7.03 lakh units through December 2025 (88.55% voluntary) yet demand stays high for emergencies, surgeries, cancer care, and chronic conditions like thalassemia.

Nearly 40 camps will run statewide tomorrow through government centres, Red Cross, and other groups. The minister stressed that one donation can save up to three lives, bringing real hope to patients.
