Amaravati, January 11, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in partnership with Rajpath Infracon Private Limited, set four Guinness World Records during the construction of the 343-km Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G).
Two records fell on January 6 near Puttaparthi, the longest continuous bituminous concrete lay of 28.89 lane-km (a 3-lane, 9.63-km section) in 24 hours, and the highest quantity at 10,655 metric tonnes in the same period.
On January 11, teamslaid down 57,500 metric tonnes of continuous paving and completed the longest paving of 156 lane-km (a 3-lane, 52-km section), surpassing the prior global record. State-of-the-art equipment including five hot mix plants, 70 tippers, one paver, and 17 roller powered the effort, with strict quality checks from institutions like IIT-Bombay.
