Vijayawada, January 11, 2026: Leaders and family members gathered at Lenin Centre today to unveil a bronze statue of Padma Bhushan awardee Superstar Krishna. The statue captures him as Ram Raju from the iconic film Eenadu, which was shot at the same location, adding deep historical meaning.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath highlighted Krishna's special affection for the city, noting how the late actor always asked about Vijayawada during meetings.

Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju praised Krishna's unmatched contributions to Telugu cinema, while Minister Kollu Ravindra called him the eternal pride of Telugu people.

Krishna's grandson Ghattamaneni Jayakrishna, along with Padmalaya Studios head Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao, jointly unveiled the memorial. The event also spotlighted Jayakrishna's upcoming debut as a hero.
