Amaravati, January 13, 2026: Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders and workers in Tirupati turned a traditional Bhogi bonfire into a protest platform on Tuesday. They set ablaze an effigy of US President Donald Trump to denounce what they called American imperialism and threats to Venezuela's sovereignty.

National executive member K. Narayana, who led the event, described the US stance as war-mongering and bullying. He urged the Indian government to speak out against any interference in Venezuela.

District leaders including P. Murali and others joined the symbolic act, blending local festival customs with global political messaging.
