Amaravati, January 14, 2026: The Centre released ₹567.4 crore to Andhra Pradesh on January 13, marking the fifth and final tranche under the 15th Finance Commission’s healthcare allocation.
State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced the funds will boost rural and urban primary care.
Key uses include ₹233.45 crore for building Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Primary Health Centres, and Community Health Centres; ₹218.11 crore to strengthen diagnostics at PHCs; ₹55.89 crore for rural Health and Wellness Centres; and ₹52.71 crore for urban ones.
With this, Andhra Pradesh becomes the third state to fully draw and utilise its allocated grant, after Tripura and Tamil Nadu. Officials noted strong utilisation under the current NDA government, with construction accelerating on 1,467 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, 100 PHCs, and 7 CHCs.
